Softr turns the spreadsheet you already have into software: point it at an Airtable base or Google Sheet and assemble client portals, internal tools, and dashboards from pre-built blocks — lists, forms, charts, user logins, payment buttons. No code, and more importantly, no data migration.
That last part is the wedge. Your operations already live in Airtable; Softr just gives them an interface with permissions, so clients see only their records and teammates get exactly the views they need. Granular access control on top of spreadsheet data is genuinely hard to get elsewhere without real development.
The block-based approach is a ceiling as well as a floor — pixel-perfect custom design and complex conditional logic aren't what this is for. And your app inherits the performance limits of its data source; a 50,000-row Airtable base will make Softr feel slow because Airtable is slow at that size. For the intended use — operational tools in days — it's excellent.
